Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I don t have too many medication side effects. The one I am concerned about is: Taking Estrogen for itching and slight irritation of vaginal area. What could I take other that estrogen even though my symtoms are not painful but just slight irritation.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Estradiol is a form of estrogen, which is used to treat symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, and vaginal dryness, burning and irritation. Commonly encountered side effects include: headache, discomfort in the breast, abdominal pain, headache, limb pain, pruritus, sinusitis, nausea, skin rash and vaginitis. There are no other alternative available to treat the symptoms other than taking estrogen. Alternately, you may use estrogen creams for topical application instead of taking it orally. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
