Hi,I am 33yr married for 3yrs and not able to get pregnant. I was taking fertyl 50mg for 5 days from day 2 to 5 of my menstruation but during my transvaginal ultrasound my biggest follicles measures only 1:10 so my doctor advised me to take fertyl again with increase dosage to 100mg from day 2 to 5days of my menses on the following month. Is there any side effect of taking fertyl 100mg? I really want to get pregnant. Pls give me your best advised. Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Fertyl acts by stimulating maturity of fitment follicle ovary &bring about ovulation to release ovum essential for pregnancy. You did not have effect with 50 mg dose, so the doctor has prescribed increased dosage. The possible side effect of the dose is maturation & ovulation releasing multiple ovums. This may cause multiple pregnancies.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
