Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the safety of Folitrax and Fovite.
It looks like an optimal treatment plan for
Rheumatoid arthritis.
Well, Folitrax is one of the most effective and safe drugs used in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis and it is given once a week.
The most common side effects associated with the use of Folitrax include:
ulcers in oral cavity, inflammation of the liver and kidneys, increased risk of infection and anemia.
These side effects are related to inhibition of
Folic acid by Folitrax, hence they can be prevented by adding Folvite tablet.
Folvite (folic acid) is a vitamin used to prevent the unwanted side effects of Folitrax can cause sleep disturbances, irritability, diarrhea, etc.
Nucoxia is one of the safest NSAID used to relieve pain, reduce swelling and
joint stiffness less likely to cause acidity related
stomach upset.
HCQS is an important drug used in the treatment of
inflammatory arthritis like Rheumatoid arthritis, its use is associated with headache, irritability,
visual impairment.
In 30% of cases of Rheumatoid arthritis,
Rh factor will be negative these case are termed as Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis, the remaining 70% with positive Rh factor are termed as Seropositive.
However, from the treatment point of view same drugs are used.
In view of the above explanation, you are advised to see your treating doctor for possible dose reduction of HCQS to overcome the unwanted side effects.
Hope the information given above could be of benefit to you in getting rid of the discomfort caused by some of the medications.
