hii sushma.. thank you for posting on HCM.
RA is an auto-immune(body starts attacking itself) chronic disease involving major joints. it can be managed with immuno-suppressant if taken regularly. folitrax contains methotrexate, one such immuno-suppressant, which is used in auto-immune disorders to suppress the immune system and keep the body from attacking itself. HCQS is also an immuno-suppressant and anti-inflammatory drug used in RA.
However these two will have side effects like headache, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased risk of bruising and HCQS in some patients cause eye problems. but please keep in mind that just because these medications have certain side effects doesn’t mean that you will experience them. even If you do, there are a number of things you can do to manage mild to moderate side effects. i would suggest you to start taking medications because RA, if not treated, can become a serious disability. you can start your medication and if you have any side effects they can be symptomologically managed. hope my answer dissolved your confusion. goodluck.
