What Are The Side Effects Of Fosamax?

Five years ago I had radiotherapy for prostate cancer since then my doctor put me on Fosamaxafter having a bone scan after reading today the side effects of the drug I think I should stop as I suffer a lot from stomach cramps and tiredness what do you advise

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you had radiotherapy for prostate cancer and then you were put on medicine Fosamax . Now you are wondering for side effects of this drug . Well Fosamax belongs to a group of medicines called bisphosphonates . It alters the cycle of bone formation and breakdown in the body. There are certain side effects of this drug like stomach pain and muscle cramp , but you should not discontinue it bu yourself . I would suggest you to consult your doctor and discuss your condition with him/her . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe some substitute . For now eat probiotics food like yogurt and apply hot water bag on stomach .
