What Are The Side Effects Of Glucomannan?

glucomannan ... so far the only side effect I see possible is in capsule form or if taken for longer than 4 months. If I m reading right, it could help with my regularity and definitely assist with making me feel full when headhunger is calling. Is that your take, Doc?

Hi,

It is generally safe. The hypoglycemic effects of it are potentially dangerous to patients with diabetes. Glucomannan has been linked in case reports to cholestatic hepatitis and occupational asthma. Minor adverse effects are normally GI related and include diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and bloating. Avoid it for taking it for long durations.
