Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have 2 year 10 mth old boy he had cough and not eating food for 10 days back n was given lanzol tablet in empty stomach.he was having on in off cough,dr to ask 3 month continue give that tablet..why we want to give that medicine ,what will any side effect or proplem....
Based on the history he seems to be suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) which occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the tube connecting the mouth and stomach (esophagus). This backwash (acid reflux) can irritate the lining of the esophagus as well as the air ways. Lanzol tablet is a proton pump inhibitor used in the treatment of GERD and other acidity related disorders. It decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach Generally it is well tolerated, however it can cause diarrhea, headache, thinning of the bones and increased risk of gut infections.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
