What Are The Side Effects Of Libotryp, Szetalo Plus, Clona-md And Ciplar?

hii my mother(49) suffering from anxiety and depression, blood checked blood pressure and it comes normal, we prescribed a doctor he gave these medicine - 1) libotryp 2) szetalo plus md 3) clona-md 0.25 4)ciplar-10, do these medicines are or not, do they have side effects? should be stop taking any of these medicine? or u suggest any other medicine?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Libotryp (Amitriptyline), Szetalo (Escitalopram), Ciplar (Propranolol) and Clona MD (Clonazepam) all are used in anxiety and depressive disorders. If used in prescribed doses these medicines are safe to use and are free of serious side effects. Libotryp may cause sedation, drowsiness, increased appetite, weight gain etc in high doses. Szetalo results in nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, slight restlessness in some individuals.

Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine drug and the drug results in sedation, sleepiness. But if used regularly for long periods of time the drug may cause dependence so should be used for short periods of time only.

Ciplar is a beta blocker drug. It should be used with caution in patients of glaucoma and asthma. The drug may cause reduction in BP in high doses. Use all these drugs with prescription only.
