Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello ! i just went yesterday to my OB GYN. And found out that I have cysts again in my left and right ovaries. But they happen to be between 1 and 2 cm. I had laparoscopy 2 years ago when my dr. removed a 6.3 cyst on my left ovary and got pregnant immediately. Now she said it is still small and prescribed progyluton for 3 months. I am scared of sife effects and planning a have another baby next year. Is progyluton won t affect my chance of getting pregnant again? Thank you.
How old are you? Any abnormal vaginal bleeding? Ovarian cysts 1 and 2 cm are functional cysts, the cyst fill with fluid, part of the ovulatory cycle, and do not require treatment. Larger cysts also often resolve on their own but should be followed up with an ultrasound in 1 to 3 months. Sometimes birth control pills are used to help the cyst shrink and prevent further cysts from forming. If there are larger cyst about 6 cm or bigger and containing solid, septations or compartments, sometimes require laparoscopic surgery.
The risk of complications of Progyluton such as heart attack, strokes, deep vein thrombosis, and breast cancer is significantly less than when the combined oral contraceptive pill is used. The dose of estrogen and progesterone is quite low and so it does not prevent pregnancy. It does not prevent ovulation. Progyluton is not a contraceptive method.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
