What Are The Side Effects Of Promethazine?

A GI Dr. just prescribed me Reglan for some upper digestive problems I have been having. After reading the information pamphlet , it says NOT to take Promethazine. I take Promethazine twice a day along with my Topamax to help with nausea I get from the Topamax. If I quit the topamax then I am afraid my cluster migraines come back. It has been a battle of going from 4 a month, down to 3 in almost 6 years. What are the side effects if I continue the Promethazine & start Reglan? Thank you Linda

Hai mrs linda.promethazine and reglan(metoclopramide hcl )oral both increase antidopamine effects (such as severe muscle stiffness or spasms, difficulty speaking or swallowing, restlessness, tremor, or more serious reactions such as uncontrollable muscle or facial movements).so its better u stop promethazine for nause instead u start emeset(ondansetron)along with topamax which would prevent vomiting without any interaction with reglan。this would help with both your gi problem as well as headache without any interactions.
