I am thinking I am having reaction to prozac took 90mg Delayed -release cap , 1st dose wed so still have med in my system, I also for 20 years have taken doxepin 100 mg at hs which I have continued . started the rprozac that doc perscribed as i was depressed and beginning to almost have manic feelings. do not know what to do
Prozac when taken along with Doxepin may cause drowsiness, sleepiness, dry mouth, blurring of the vision, constipation and urinary retention. Doxepin also increases the blood levels of Prozac causing altered consciousness, confusion, poor muscle coordination, abdominal cramping, shivering, dilation of the pupils, sweating, high blood pressure, and increased heart beat. I advise you to consult your treating doctor to adjust the dose of the medicines or for an alternate effective medicines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
