Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the safety of
Roaccutane during pregnancy.
Following side effects are associated with the use of Roaccutane during pregnancy:
Abnormalities of the face, eyes, ears, skull,
central nervous system, cardiovascular system, and thymus and
parathyroid glands.
There is also an increased risk of
spontaneous abortion & premature births.
Well, there is an extremely high risk of severe birth defects if pregnancy occurs while taking Roaccutane in any amount, even for
short periods of time. Potentially any fetus exposed during pregnancy can be affected.
Since in your case pregnancy has occurred during treatment you must stop taking Roaccutane and should be examined by an obstetrician experienced in reproductive toxicity for further evaluation and counseling which may involve ultrasound studies, etc.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing you best of your health.
