Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Dr prescribed 5mg twice a day of tapazole for my subclinical hyperthyroidism. Is this a low dose of medicine or a high dose. I m afraid to take the medicine because of the side effects that might occur. The Dr wants me to take the medication because she said she didn t want my heart to start acting up is there a possibility of my heart acting up ?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the thyroid dysfunction and well confirmed then one need to have the medicine without worry of side effects because all the pharmaceutical molecules have some side effects (More or less ) but it did not mean that clinical condition should left untreated because of fear of side effects, better not to worry about it and continue the given treatment, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
