Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
You are going to love this... I m a Health Aide in and Elementary school. A child came in to another school s health office in my district. Complaining about dry skin on her arm. The health aide applied Vaseline to the child s arm and sent her back to class. The child went home and told her mother that she went to the health office and what the health aide did. The mom went crazy and called the school. We work under a District RN. The mom was very upset that Vaseline was applied to her daughter s arm. The mom even had her child s Doctor call and scold the District Nurse. We were told about this at meeting today. My fellow health aides and I were wondering about what side effects there could be for Vaseline. We could only think of clogged pores and respiratory concerns if applied inside of the nose. Can you tell some side effects?

What Are The Side Effects Of Vaseline?
Hello, Mostly, it can be used safely and effectively with no side effects. However, burning, stinging, redness, or irritation may occur. But serious side effects can occur: unusual changes in the skin (e.g., turning white/soft/soggy from too much wetness), signs of skin infection. What is more, nowadays, most of the creams have perfumes- and these themselves can cause further allergic reactions. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
