What Are The Side Effects Of Administering Valparin To Child For Long Time?

Sir our 8 year old son has been diagnosed with rolandic epilepsy and was taking valparin 200 mg twice a day since june 2015. however he had 4-5 seizures and in november 2015 he had an episode of Status epilepticus. thereafter his dosage of valparin has been increased to 800 mg. (400 x 2) and the suggested period is 2 yrs minimum. There are no further seizures thereafter, but I am extremely worried for long term side effects of valparin and memory and concentration loss. Please advice.

And your Healthcare providers have prescribed this medicine because the benefits are much higher than the possible side effect . So don't be worried and continue the medicine as prescribed , have regular follow up visits with your healthcare providers .
