What Are The Side Effects Of Bending Or Breaking Of Nexplanon Implant?

Hello, I have the Nexplanon implant. It feels like it's bent or broken. Their is an uncomfortable sensation that shoots down my arm and also so many other side effects. Is it normal for it to bend or break? Also what are the effects from it bending and breaking? Thank You.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi i do care for your concern.
The implanon to some extent will bend and there is no need to worry about that.
It is usually fixed in arms in such a place that causing damage to it is difficult.
However in rare cases implanon may break leading to release of more of drugs causing side effects.
I would advise to consult your gynaecologist and get examined of implanon and if found broken then removal may be needed.
Hope everything goes fine.
Hope i have answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask.
Thank you.
