Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on this chemo medication for two years. I have not felt any sideffects thus far. I have treatment Once every 2 weeks. 3trearments ago I started to feel side effect. Dec 24 had treatment and on the 25 I had vomited for the first time and also felt very strange. In my head for hours. Why is this happening now.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Chemotherapy drugs have a range of side-effects that depend on the type of medications used. Usually fast-dividing cells of the body, such as blood cells and the cells lining the mouth, stomach, and intestines are mostly affected. Chemotherapy drugs can have their side effects even months to years to develop. According to your symptoms you must have nauseavomiting like side effects which are very common. These side-effects can frequently be reduced or eliminated with antiemetic drugs such as domperiodone, ondansarton, etc. Self-care measures, such as eating frequent small meals and drinking clear liquids or ginger tea, are often recommended. In general, this is a temporary effect, and frequently resolves within a week of finishing treatment.
