What Are The Side Effects Of Defza Tablets For Skin Disorders?
hey, one of my friend is suffering from some skin disorders in her hand fingers....it is rather acute as all ointments prescribed by the specialsit doctors have failed. now doc is recommending DEFZA tab 30 mg......i need to know the content n side effects if any...
Defza 30 mg consists of 30 milligrams of Deflazacort which is a cortico-steroid class of medication. I use it commonly in my clinic for various dermatological conditions. oral cortico-steriods are reserved in conditions where topical creams and ointments have been ineffective.
They are generally safe if used for a short course of one week and may require tapering of dose when stopping the medication. Side effects are many but in my clinical setting i would exercise caution in prescribing to a patient with hypertension, diabetes milletus and hyper-cholesterolemia as these conditions are worsened by the said medication.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
