Hello
thanks for using health care magic
Rosuvastatin is a drug used to reduce LDL
cholesterol. the prescription is usually done when levels of ldl are high or in the presence of other cardiovascular risk factors such as diabetes,
hypertension etc with mild elevation of ldl.
Treatment has to be continued unless risk factors are greatly reduced. Doing sports, controlling diet etc are good behavioural adaptations but there do not guarantee that levels of the cholesterol could become normal.
Only your treating doctor or a doctor has to evaluate you and control your cholesterol levels to before putting you off the drug.
As for the side effects, there are many just like any other drug. But if you could take the drug of a year, it implies you can tolerate the drug.
However, side effects include
constipation, heartburn, dizziness, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, depression, joint pain, cough,
memory loss or forgetfulness, confusion etc.
Best regards and hope this helps
