What Are The Side Effects Of Narcotics?

My mother 84 yrs of age had fallen and fractured her bone in arm close to shoulder 6 weeks ago. She has been on oxycodone 10mg to now 5mg. and has several additional issues can these be due to taking this Narcotic ? Forgetful, confused, agitated, urine leakage, black tongue fungus, uti, loss of movement of legs, Thank you

Hello,

Long term use of oxycodone is not recent for the elderly as it can cause side effects like costipation.

However, the forgetfulness and neurological problems may not be attributed to oxycodone and probably due to age-related degenerative changes.

You can switch to drugs like tramadol which is devoid of such side effects.
