What Are The Side Effects Of Open Abdominal And Laparoscopic Hysterectomy?
Hello Doctor, My mom consulted a Gyno for a uterus pain and long menstrual bleeding. The Gyno discover a small size fluid in the uterus and a enlorged wall think ness of 11 mm in the uterus. The doctor suggested to do a DNC to know why the thinkness is more and Possibly, they are thinking my mom need to undergo a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I want to understand, what are all the pretests needs to be done to ensure hysterectomy is the best solution. Also, it we need to do hysterectomy which way is best either open surgery or laparoscopic hysterectomy. What risk involved on both format . My mom is now at 48 having diabetes also. Please let us know your opinion. Thanks.

I really appreciate your concern, if the DNC is advise for investigation purpose then it need to be done, as long as the hysterectomy is concern method of operation is depends upon the underlying cause of disease for which hysterectomy being advise, in my opinion better to get done the MRI test instead, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
