Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband has had to stop taking thyroxin before haviing radio active iodine therapy....he has been off his meds for 10 days? would there by any side effects yet? his eyes look puffy and he feels tired? is this a result of stopping his meds already? thanks Candy
If he is undergone to radio active iodine therapy means he is a hyperthyroidism patient. So probably he is on anti hyperthyroidism drugs. I think not on levothyroxine. So stopping of this drugs may cause palpitations, headache and generalised weakness. Don't worry if above symptoms not improved please consult with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
