What Are The Side Effects Of Strong Dose Of Diabetic Medicine?
Hi Dr. Am 32 years old. I got diagnosed for type II diabetes 7 years back. My sugar control was quite good initially but now getting worse and worse and my dosage also has increased. Also i get other infections like cold very often and my sugar goes out of control. Wanted to know whether strong dose of tablets can kill a person? Thanx
Dear sir I can understand you concern. I am very sorry about your condition. There is nothing to get alarmed because this is a natural happening in the course of diabetes progression. During any infections in body usually sugars will fluctuate a little. Depending up on severity and type of infection it was customary to increase the dose of medication or in some instance insulin also will be added until infection settle. When your dose is changed, doctor will advise you to check your blood sugar more often, to make sure that you are not developing low sugars. Taking high dose of medication without consulting doctor is definitely not good and may lead to severe hypoglycemia.
Hope I was able to help you. If you have any further question feel free to write me back. I will be happy to help. Take care. Best Regards. Dr Vamsi Krishna Consultant Diabetologist Apollo Hospitals
