Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why would my dr change my prescription fron diazepam to parole tine hcl and hydroxyzine hcl when I have not had any problems with the drug and the side affects are so much less also the diazepam works for me right now when needed? By I don t need to pay you for an answer
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. There is one possible explanation. Diazepam is sedative used for anxiety and sleeping disorders and it has side effects such as drowsiness or loss of concentration. On the other hand, paroxetine and hcl are antidepressants and these are used for more severe psychological depressive episodes so this may be the reason why your doctor switched the medicine. It would be best however, to ask him about exact reasons, but this is my impression,
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
