What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Fentanyl And Clonazepam Together?
Can you please advise me of the interaction of fentanyl together with clonazpam , ie, how common or is it known to be a serious risk,? I have been taking morphine sulphate at a daily dose of 100mg daily for around 8yrs now together with clonazpam at a daily dose of 6mg for the same period of time and I am looking to move onto fentanyl patches due to my spinal degeneration worsening and simply wish to know whether the side effects of doing so are known to be more severe.I must say that for the last 8yrs i have not had any problems. Many thanks in advance for any advice given. My Best regards
Taking Fentanyl transdermal patch together with other medications that also cause central nervous systemdepression can lead to serious side effects including respiratory distress, coma, and even death. Consult your treating doctor for effective alternatives that do not interact or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
