Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. i pill is an emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours after the act to prevent unwanted or accidental pregnancy. The pill would prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake. Since it is hormonal preparation, there are certain side effects which could be experienced after taking i pill, however, it is not experienced by all. These side effects include: spotting, nausea, breast tenderness, headache, weight gain, mood changes, decreased libido and vaginal discharge. Most of these symptoms subside on its own over a period of time without needing any medications. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
