HI, I HAD DETACHED RETINA 3 MONTHS AGO ,I HAD BUCKLE AND GAS BUBBLE DONE. AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS HERE AND THEN. I HAD SOME FLASHING LIGHTS CONSTANT. I WENT TO SEE THE RETINA PHYSICIAN AND HE LOOKED IN MY EYE AND SAID MY RETINA WAS OK AND LOOKED GREAT. LATELY MY EYE DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. I STILL HAVE THE FLASHING LIGHTS AND I AM NOT SURE IF I HAVE AN INFECTION. WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF A RETINA OR EYE INFECTION.
Hello Retinal infection is usually rare and it presents with pain, redness of eye, watering and loss of vision. The symptoms of flashes of light indicate retinal tear. Since you have undergone surgery for retinal detachment you require to undergo retinal examination by indirect ophthalmoscopy to find out any retinal tear and treatment by laser photo coagulation. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
