What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For GERD?

Hello, I have had the following symptoms for one year:

- sore, burning throat (worse in the mornings)
- stiff neck
- tightness in throat
- mucus in the back of throat

Some days the symptoms aren't noticeable, some days it's bad. I've seen a lot about GERD or acid reflux online but I took Prilosec and an antacid for 2 wks but no relief. Could this be a food allergy? Or gluten? Or if it is acid reflux, what will fix this besides medication?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Persisting gastritis could be due to h.pylori infection so please get a stool analysis to exclude that possibility.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
