What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Chlamydia Infection?

Hi, I am a 19 year old female. In November I was experiencing burning while urinating after having sexual intercourse. I got tested and learned I had contracted chlamydia so as soon as I found out I got treated for it (my only symptom was burning urination). After a couple days the burning stopped but I still felt burning but only after I was done urinating and the feeling stayed until i went to urinate again. I decided to wait and give it time and I got retested for chlamydia/gonorrhoea about 5-6 weeks after and it came back negative. I also had numerous UTI tests which came back negative, i went for blood test about a month ago for other std's such as syphillis, hpv, hiv, etc. and it came back negative. I did have a polyp when I was about 13-14 years old which had fallen and was almost ¨hanging out¨ of my vagina but it had never bothered me so I never had it removed. I still have the burning sensation after urinating and not during, and a small pressure on the bladder so maybe it's related to that. I went to see my family doctor and she did a urine culture/pap test and nothing came up and she did not see anything abnormal inside. I'm just panicking because the partner I was with at the time was unfaithful and that's how he contracted chlamydia and passed it on to me. Is it possible I would have another STD even if my blood work came clear? I've been panicking so much and stressing over this!

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, there is possibility of contacting another std , but as of now I think that you are suffering from chronic urinary tract infection. I would suggest you have a utimac sachet two times for 20 days along with urinary alkalizing syrups for 10 days. Start tablet nitrofurantoin 100 mg for 10 days and apply clotrimazole suppositories at night for 6 days per vaginally.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
