My 81 year old husband had a severe brain hemorrhage in 1997 and bilateral subdural hematomas from a fall in 2000 resulting in 4 months of hospitalization with 5 craniotomies secondary to a brain abscess. In 2008 he developed Capgras syndrome which cleared in 48 hours after starting Aricept. He is still on it plus Namenda. In the past 2 months he has developed a severe deterioration of his long term memory for important dates and events. Coincidentally, he has developed an eosinophilia of 30%!!!!! He is to see his internist in two days plus the cardiologist, since he had a pace maker implanted in October. Are there any suggestions to a possible relationship to his neurological problem and his eosinophi He does not have parasites and no other medical problems, nor any new drugs other than his cardiac pills for congestive heart failure. By the way, we are both retired physicians. Thank you for any insight you can give us. Sincerely yours. Vivian K. Dorsch, M.D.
