What Are The Symptoms Of ADHD?

My 16 year old son is convinced he had ADHD and I dont have insurance to take him to a doctor to diagnose. I have reviewed the symptoms and see that I did the same when I was young. Are the symptoms just a teenager wanting to play his game/computer and text all day???

Hello and welcome to HCM
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
It may not be easy to treat ADHD in kids and teenagers. If ADHD remains incompletely treated, it does a toll on child's self esteem also & too many times, in a desire to get noticed, get some appreciation, child engages into undesirable behaviors which are at present your main concern.
There are medications which can be used and inlcude methylphenidate or atomoxetine . As a part of parent teacher management, we can engage into token economy, contingency management, role plays, time out etc. which are taught by Psychologist to both the parents & teachers in school. Hence, do contact your Psychologist for PTMT; if need further help do revert back to me. Good Luck
Do get back to me for further queries.
