Hello,
You can understand your
anxiety as you are in a very great medical confusion.
ADHD (Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder) is most common condition in childhood.
The symptoms include:
1. Inattention symptoms (hard time paying attention, day dreams, frequent forgetting of things)
2. Hyperactivity symptoms (constant movement, over talkative, cannot be steady)
3. Impulsive symptoms (speaks without thinking, runs without seeing traffic, interrupts others)
You can judge by the above symptoms. Your grandson was suffering from a psychiatry disorder which is very common in children. So we should deal the case carefully.
In psychiatric problems, medicine alone is not a good treatment. Along with medicine, there should be a good
counselling.
It is better to increase counselling dose rather than medicine dose because ADHD improves with age. So, it is better not to be exposed to side effects of higher doses.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
