I m scared that I have Barrett s Esophagitis, because I have been treated for GERD for years and now it has suddenly worsened. I have lost 5 pounds in the past 4 weeks. My GERD meds are not working, and I have horrible epigastric pain. Should I worry?
Hello I have gone through your question and understand your concern. GERD if left under treated can cause damage to mucosa that can cause epigastric pain particularly after food consumption and the damage can be seen on endoscopic view of upper gastrointestinal tract. If you are finding it difficult to eat and that is leading to weight loss consult a doctor to get examined. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
