Hello, I am 36 yrs old, 5'5" and 130 lbs. I feel like my heart is skipping a beat, then beats hard, then feels normal. It happens when I hold my breath for a moment or when I take a deep breath. This is happening about every 3 minutes for the past 5 days. I wake up from sleeping due to it also. I am am overall healthy woman in good shape. Only medical history is i am Factor V positive with history of superficial clots in arms 4 years ago. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks!

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Irregular beating of heart warrants a cardiovascular check up.
Irregular beating of the heart is commonly due to muscular abnormality.
An echocardiography will help to know the status of the heart.
Deficiency or absence of factor V is responsible for increased tendency of clotting.
Mild to moderate cases do not require any treatment.
However, moderately sever to severe cases may require treatment in the form iof anticuagalt therapy,
Consult a hematologist for further was treatment.

Thanks and take care
