Hi there, i`m not sure if I could be HIV positive as i`ve had muscle aches and a strange fever that is felt more around my stomach and chest area for the last 6 weeks now. I had unprotected sex about 13 weeks ago so my symptoms started after 7 weeks. I don`t have any of the other symptoms such as a rash or swollen glands, sore throat or tiredness. Is it possible to show HIV symptoms for over 6 weeks or do they disappear sooner? I`m a 32 yr old male
Pl don't draw any conclusions , on your own . You can judge HIV by its symptoms which are general in nature like fever, rashes, diarrhoea . The only way is to get tested at any Govt health facility (ICTC-Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre) where upon your consent , you will tested and counselled. This will help to allay from undue fear and misconceptions reg HIV/AIDS and also know your status -positive or negative .Hope this helps
symptoms of HIV are persistent fever, chronic diarrhoea, generalized weakness, weight loss, lymphadenopathy, frequent infection etc. it is possible that you might have hiv symptoms, but you may have other disease also. so its wise to go for hiv testing once. Go for hiv1 and 2 antibodies and p24 antigen combo test. don't worry just relaxed and go for testing once. it will clear all doubts.
