Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been bitten by deer ticks before. This year, I was bit twice. What are the odds that I have Lyme disease? I have aching feet (I just finished work & can barely stand), my knees are swollen (yesterday I could hardly bend them) & My lymph glands on my neck ssem larger than normal. My neck feels like I have a lump in my throat.
i understand your concern, since all of these could originate from infected tick(except lump in your throat, that is probably somatisation). if the antibodies /bacterias are attacking your joints/nodes the key is to stop their attack, and minimise the damage. that means,as with all rheum/infec diseases of the joints-nsails (honestly, this is therapy whatever the cause). as for specific therapy, check for antibodies against borrelia burgdorferi so that you can initiate antibioticsASAP.
