Hello, I am wondering whether not I have a blood clot? It s at the right side of my knee on my left leg, its not red, it s not swollen, I can just see my vein abit? It s not fully bulging out my skin? No pain except from thinking about it too much is giving me pain that isn t there? What shall I do? I also have a compression stocking on it?
Hello, The type of blood clots that are concerning (meaning they can move and cause problems like a clot in the lungs) are in the deep veins. You would not see a vessel if you had this type of clot, you would have leg swelling and possibly pain. You can get clots in the superficial veins but these usually resolve without treatment and are not dangerous. The compression stockings are good and also try warm compresses on the area. Also try to relax, this does not sound dangerous. If you are still concerned, see a doctor for an exam. Regards, Dr. Robinson
