Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had 3 serious sudden headaches 10/10 on 3 recurring days and was admitted to hospital 3 times. I had a brain scan and a lumbar puncture, which showed no bleed in the brain. Now I have just had a CT scan and I am due to have a repiratory clinic check-up. Do the symptoms point to a brain tumour or possibly lung cancer (my husband is a chain smoker; I have never smoked)? Or what else could it be? Thanks. Sue Sutty
The brain scan would have been able to pick up a brain tumor or bleed if present and the lumbar puncture would have given an indication of an infection in the spinal cord or brain.
Other causes of headaches would need to be considered such as migraines, tension headache, cluster headaches, sinus headaches
You may want to see a neurologist to determine the likely cause of the headache
Lung cancer is not typically associated with headaches but would cause respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain.
I hope this helps
