I am sorry to hear about your mother and congratulations on her 83rd birthday. You are concerned that your mother maybe having symptoms of mini-strokes or TIAs. We use a mnemonic called FAST to help identify a person that maybe experiencing a stroke. F is for facial weakness ask a person to smile and see if their facial muscles are the same on both sides, A is arm or extremity weakness or tingling, have them raise there arms and see if they can keep them up, S is for speech. if their speech has changed become garbled or confused. and T is for time. If these symptoms occur it is appropriate to call 911 for quick assessment and reversal of the stroke. A mini-stroke is having these symptoms but they only last a few minutes. I recommend any person who has these symptoms to be seen as there are options to treat and prevent further attacks or disability.
Your mothers symptoms do not sound like they are neurological but gastrointestinal. When she gets nauseous she then becomes sweaty, cold and clammy which is a vasovagal response to the nausea. This is common and the focus should be on what is causing her nausea.
