Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am on birth control and sexually active. I have taken the pill late sometimes. But recently I spotted a little, and one day two hours after the time I was supposed to take the pill, I began bleeding. The next day, in the morning, I very heavy, what looks like a blood clot came out after I d released my bladder. As I was wiping myself I noticed a piece of the clot on my tissue with what looked like white tissue developed onto it. Could I have been pregnant without knowing? Did I have a miscarriage?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes if you missed your period for a long time and suddenly you bleed like that with blood clot, then yes it could be a miscarriage. Miscarriage is a sudden heavy bleeding with lower abdominal pain and ultrasound scan shows no gestational sac. So observe yourself. If you want pregnancy then you should stop taking pills or as you wish for contraception.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ruby
