Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have diagnosed mono and an enlarged spleen. I sat down rather quickly tonight and felt a twing in that area. It was not painful or sharp. I am not having sharp pains there currently either. I do have somewhat of a warm sensation in that area though. Do you think this could be signs of a ruptured spleen?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Imran Zeb's Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
No this is not ruptured spleen, as ruptured spleen is an emergency condition and you wouldn't be able to sit there. If you have ruptured spleen, you will be bleeding inside abdomen which can give you tense, rigid tender abdomen along with hypotension. So your spleen is alright don't worry. This pain might be due to your enlarged spleen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Imran Zeb
