I have adenomyosis. I have been given two options - 1. Insertion of Mirena. 2. hysterectomy. I have undergone Mirena treatment before. It was quite successful in my case. I am 46 years old and my mother s uterus was removed at the age of 45 as she had fibroids and she had breastcancer at the age of 65. I would like to have your expert opinion on what should I do?
I suggest that you use Mirena again. It is effective in reducing pain and bleeding. You have used it before and are aware of it.
You can retain it for 5 years. By then you probably would have attained menopause bringing an end to pain and bleeding. It avoids major surgery with its associated complications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
