I understand that you are concerned that you may be having
anorexia. Most of the symptoms that you have mentioned are indeed indicative of anorexia. To help you understand this better, the core features of anorexia are as follows:
- Refusal to maintain a weight that is minimum for a person's height or having a BMI of below 18
- Fear of becoming fat or having a distorted image about one's own body.
- Indulging in unhealthy weight losing behaviours like
vomiting, starving, purging, using water pills, etc.
- Amenorrhoea or other metabolic abnormalities.
You seem to be having many of the above features and hence it is likely that you may be having anorexia. However a detailed
psychological evaluation is necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
So, I would advise you to seek a psychiatric consultation for a detailed evaluation and further management.
