Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I think my husband may have cat scratch fever - was attacked by a cat this week - received scratches on arm; we treated with peroxide and antibiotic cream; now today he has been in bed all day, chills, says legs are weak and painful; I looked at his arm - no swelling or postules -
The symptoms seem to be related to cat scratch fever. For people in good health, it will likely go away without treatment. Until it does, you can take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen or Naproxen sodium to ease swelling and pain. A hot compress can help too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
