Thank you for posting query at HCM.
Persistent
diarrhea has many causes.
like Celiac,
inflammatory bowel disease, whipple disease, cholera,
lactose intolerance, bacterial overgrowth.
its unlikely that your granddaughter is suffering from
Celiac disease.
however, she should avoid beverages altogether.
further evaluation is need.
stool color? is any blood noticed? is diarrhea watery ?
she may get a
stool test, stool culture and complete blood cell count test.
meanwhile:My advice:
1. no beverages and junk food. NO can food.
2. Take yogurt, eat fruits especially banana and avoid oily food, spicy food and meat. Avoid butter for now.
3. Drink "Oral Rehydrated Solution" when you want to drink water to compensate the loss of water and electrolytes.
4. Avoid refried and junk unhygienic food.
5. do the aforementioned tests and visit gastroenterologist
