Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife is showing early signs of dementia. The hardest for me to deal with is her antagonistic attitude toward me. So much anger about the past and some of it is not real. Forgetting all of the good. Is this normal for dementia patients? What do I say and do?
Yes, unfortunately aggression as well as recalling past events is normal part of dementia.
It would be best to take her to her doctor to be assessed, there are medications that can sometimes be used to help deal with these symptoms or presentations.
I hope this helps
