Welcome to HCM
This is Dr Amit. Let me help you in this case.
Symptoms of chronic
granular pharyngitis are
sore throat, dryness of throat, irritation, feeling of lump in the throat, dry cough, frequent throat clearing, voice change, headache, neck pain and excess mucous in the throat.
The patient experiences a sense of stuffing up in the upper part of the throat and to get relief there is frequent effort to remove it by hawking.
Inspection reveals a varied condition; in the earlier stages the
mucous membrane is swollen, red, and bathed in mucus; later we find it dusky in color.
I will advise you to see your doctor immediately and seek
medical advice.
In the meantime, the following remedies may help:
1.Drink warm liquids.
2.Gargle several times a day with warm salt water (1/2 tsp of salt in 1 cup water
3.All sources of irritation are to be avoided- Smoking, the use of alcoholic drinks
4.Avoid spicy , oily food
Depending upon the severity your doctor can go for the medical traement (Antibiotics, Treatment of underlying cause like GERD(Gastroesophageal reflux disese) and
Chronic sinusitis and Analgesics) or Surgical treatment
