Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello,I have gone through your question. Thanks for using HCM.Let me inform you that in majority of cases with high cholesterol are silent, and are usually picked up on routine health check up.I presume that in your case too you could know on rouitne check up.This abnormally high level of cholesteol gets deposited in the walls of arteries leading to obstruction to flow of blood and creating blockage in vessel.Depending upon which arteries are affected, patients develop relevant symptoms. If coronaries i.e. arteries supplying blood to heart are blocked,it leads to heart attack. If brain arteries are affected it may lead to stroke and paralysis.I request you to get your complete lipid profile done.I suggest you to start cholesterol lowering medicine Tab. Atorvastatin 10 mg once at bed time, with regular monitoring of cholesterol.Ofcourse You must give up smoking, My best wishes. Dr.Teli,MD
