Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my 14 month old was playing with her siblings and she went to drive head first on a pillow and my son kicked the pillow and she hit her head on our floor which onky has a thin layer of carpet no padding with concrete under it. She has no visible bump bruise or mark.
As per my clinical experience, the mode of play does not signify any grave threat of head injury to pause any symptoms on clinical grounds. However, following should be observed over a next period of 24 hours to rule out any side effect over brain tissue or structures: - Development of nausea, vomiting - Lethargy - Decreased act of playing - Drowsiness or excess sleeping - Irritability - Low food intake - Shivering body or convulsions - Rolling of eyeballs - Low urine output (late stages) If any of the above noticed, immediately consult his pediatrician or call 911 for emergency help.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
