What Are The Symptoms Of Herpes?

Hi. I ve been diagnosed with Herpes Simplex 2 for almost 20 years. My outbreaks have always been on my penis. However, I just recently had an outbreak close to my anus. I got tested for it and it was confirmed as Herpes. The only activity I engage in anally is getting rimmed. I am guessing I could be infected from somebody with a cold sore in the form of Herpes Simplex 1. The question is: Can this outbreak also be simply a new area where the Herpes Simplex 2 I ve had for this many years decided to show up? Your anus is obviously an area that suffers irritation often from wiping and I was wondering if the sensitive skin in this area makes it likely for the sores to appear there, without necessarily having been a point of entry from a Herpes Simplex 1 off of somebody s coldsore? Or is reinfection of 2 possible? Thank you very much. CMD
